On senior day at the Burns arena the Red Storm men's basketball team defeated Hawaii Pacific University on Saturday 106-99, and earned its first NCAA Division II postseason berth.

The Red Storm won at the very least a co-championship of the PacWest title. The outcome of a contest between BYU-Hawaii and Hawaii Pacific on Monday will determine if the Red Storm are lone PacWest Conference champions or co-champions.

Either way, the Storm have earned a play-off game on Friday. Their opponent is yet to be determined. The NCAA will announce the Red Storm's next opponent and location of that game on Tuesday. The Red Storm will have to travel somewhere for the game though.

Red Storm senior players: Adam Ross, Andy Palmer and Nick Howard were recognized in a brief pre-game presentation. The players received a loud standing ovation, along with their family members, for their Dixie State College careers.

Red Storm junior forward Tom Whitehead led the team in scoring with 27 points on 9-14 shooting. Junior guard Donovan Plunkett scored 19 points, and freshman center Zach Robbins threw in 17 points with 15 rebounds. Five Red Storm players scored in double figures, a first time happening this season.

The Red Storm finished the regular season with a PacWest conference record of 14-2, while BYU-Hawaii is 13-2. If BYU-Hawaii (Seasiders) defeats Hawaii Pacific on Monday, the Red Storm and the Seasiders will be the co-champions of the PacWest Conference. If Hawaii Pacific wins, the Storm will possess the title alone.
