Winter trends are always sure to include boots. Pair them with skirts, leggings or your favorite skinny jeans for a complete cold weather ensemble.

For fashionistas like me, a new season means new opportunities for different outfits and different clothes, and winter can only mean one thing.

When summer turned into fall we got out the scarves and cardigans, but for fall and winter the fashion world falls in love with one word: boots. Every girl should embrace this timeless trend. The one thing that does change with this trend is the different boots worn each season. These are the most popular and fashionable boots for this winter season.

Riding Boots

These are by far the best investment I've ever made. The second I saw these riding boots, I fell in love. I've worn them almost every day. These are the boho-style boots that can really be worn with anything from a short dress and leggings to a cardigan and scarf.

What I've been seeing so far in this trend is that each riding boot either is flat or has a short heel, usually brown, and goes right below your knee. But the thing that makes riding boots different this season is the statement zipper.

To add some personality to your outfit, make sure you get riding boots with a statement zipper. Because these boots are so simple, they really need a something to add to it, and I don't suggest bedazzling. So choose a big brass zipper or a zipper on the back of the boot with a pop of color.

Combat Boots

Combat boots go about mid-thigh and have that military, "Call of Duty" masculine look. But this winter they've been seen on some of the most fashionable women, so don't let that scare you out of the trend. They're certainly for a bolder girl who isn't afraid to make a statement.

To ease you into the look, make sure you know what to wear. Combat boots, usually in black, can be worn with your favorite skinny jeans and an oversized sweater. The most important thing with fashion is style—take the fashion trend and make it yours.

Just because the military trend is going through with your footwear doesn't mean that your whole ensemble needs to. Remember to keep your outfit balanced with this look—combat boots don't look good with a military jacket. Balancing is essential so that it represents the military trend but is still feminine.

Fold Over Fur

Before Christmas, these boots were in every store and on every website. They're the ankle boots that have a laced-up front and a medium-sized heel. And at the top, you fold it over to show the faux fur lining.

It's like the combat boot, but with a softer edge. It has the look of when you go out in these boots, you're dressing up while still having a casual feel. They're great for a date or a cold night at Dixie Rock because they'll make you look awesome and keep your feet warm with the fur inside.

Wear it with a bold cardigan and a belt or even a pea coat to make the look complete. Again, make sure you balance the outfit so that it isn't too much.

If you get any of these trendy boots and pair them with the right pieces, your stylish look will be sure to make every head turn. Whether you're going grocery shopping or walking on campus, you'll love the boots you're wearing.
